“The owner of the corn is like a woman. We cannot see it when there’s corn on the cob, but there are owners inside. Before, little children couldn’t go into the cornfield because it was known that they could disappear; they were taken inside the corn. The corn has a big heart; it’s like a person. I saw it, it comes walking. There is the owner of the corn.” – Kayúm Ma’ax
