Indigenous women | Juan Chawuk

Juan Chawuk, Maya/Tojolabal artist, was born in Las Margaritas, Chiapas, Mexico, in 1971. He is a painter, muralist, sculptor, and performance artist. Trained at La Esmeralda and self-taught, he recently presented his work at the Musée du Quai Branly, a museum specializing in Fourth World art, in Paris. Learn more.
