Mural Creation in Guayabal

Saúl Kak, originally from the Zoque region, decided to carry out activities in the town of Guayabal, in the municipality of Rayón, located in the northern part of the state of Chiapas. His goal was to create a collective visual memory with the participation of several young people from his community. This led to the intervention of a wall at a community shelter, giving participants the freedom to express their ideas using acrylic paint to ensure the mural could withstand the elements. Despite other obligations and responsibilities, the young participants rearranged their schedules to contribute to the mural, which took three days to complete. The result was very well received by the local residents, who even offered their own walls for the artist and young people to paint on.
