Seminario 12

Tso’bil jk’op (Gathered Words) is a collection of works by artists from Indigenous communities who have transformed their voices into sculptures and paintings, reflecting their experiences of everyday life. Earth, stones, candles, charcoal, and oils form the flesh of their ideas, dreams, reflections, and stories.

The fleeting moments of looking up at the sky or down at the ground, the plants that surround them, and the images that fill their thoughts are the references for these works—a visual delight born from the symbiosis between the natural, dreamlike, and digital worlds they inhabit.

Organizing collectively is the strength that allows these voices to resonate in a metropolis like Mexico City, thus the term Tso’blej—gathering to strengthen our voice.

We present works by the artists PH Joel (Francisco Villa, Ocosingo), P. T’ul Gómez (San Andrés Larraínzar), Darwin Cruz (Sabanilla), Maruch Méndez (Chamula), Antún Kojtom (Tenejapa), Maruch Sántiz (Cruzton, Chamula), and Saúl Kak (Rayón).
