Antún Kojtom, a Tseltal artist, developed several activities in the town of Ch’ixaltontik, which belongs to the municipality of Tenejapa. The main focus was to conduct a workshop, which began with the screening of a film. The workshop invited participants to paint their silhouettes on a canvas, as the artist aimed to encourage them to move away from figurative realism. Instead, they were invited to represent themselves through lines, stains, and colors.
Additionally, school supplies and art materials were raffled off to encourage participants to continue their artistic experimentation. As a result, an acrylic painting on canvas measuring thirteen meters long by two meters wide was created. Once completed, it was decided that the canvas would be sent to the Galería Muy, as the community lacks an appropriate space to preserve the artwork.
